Hello Students here is your lesson!
STEM LESSON IN HONOR OF EASTER!
Do Eggs Sink or Float?
Begin a discussion by asking the children a few questions to get them thinking. What kinds of animals do you know lay eggs? What do eggs look like? Have you ever seen a chicken lay an egg?
Brainstorm with your family words that describe what an egg looks like and feels like.
There are two ways that animals have babies, born live from their mother (mammals: an animal that breathes air, has a backbone, and grows hair at some point during its life), and by laying eggs. Some animals that lay eggs are birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects and spiders. Fun fact, the Platypus and Echidna (“spiny anteaters”) are the only mammals who lay eggs!

MATH, LETTER, ALPHABET SOUNDS, AND READING WORK
Use materials you may have at home to practice working with numbers, alphabet letters, sounds and reading OR
use any of the Internet resources listed below.
This Weeks Letter Sound is “Ss”.
*After writing a bubble letter s have your child cut it out.
*Ideas to use for decorating it are: coloring small suns or spiders, or use star stickers, or glue on dry spaghetti.
*Have your child name words that begin with “Ss” , write a list, and count the words.
*Make slime: https://www.iheartnaptime.net/homemade-slime/
*Make art with salt or sand: Draw with glue on a sheet of paper and pour salt over the picture you made with glue!
“Ss” Make a Snake CRAFT
Paper Plate Snakes | Crafts for Kids | PBS KIDS for Parents
*On a paper plate or similar size piece of paper draw a circle and then draw a spiral within the circle.
*Cut the spiral. You may need to guide them cutting the spiral. (The cut starts with the tail and ends with the head). Have your child color before or after cutting.
******LET’S DO MATH!
Math With Spoons
*Have your preschooler help you gather all the spoons you have of different sizes. Wooden spoons, dinner spoons, measuring spoons, plastic spoons, toy or little coffee spoons, etc.
*Preschooler (maybe with help) is to count all the spoons together.
*Next have your child sort the spoons into groups by size. (Keep each group under 10 for beginners).
*Using pencil and paper have them (or you write lightly for them to trace) how many are in each group.
THE FOLLOWING STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED IF YOUR CHILD IS READY. ALL OF THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING YOU ENJOY DOING TOGETHER AND FITTING TO YOUR CHILD’S READINESS. IF THEY ARE NOT INTO IT THEN LEAVE IT. PUSHING ISN’T NECESSARY…JUST KEEP IT FUN!
*Show and tell them what the addition and subtraction symbols mean.
*They might write how many are in two groups and add them together to get the sum. Do this combining all possible groups of two.
*Do subtraction if they are interested.
*CONTINUE COUNTING AND SORTING OTHER ITEMS YOU FIND.
